The South Deerfield Water Supply Dist. is currently seeking qualified candidates experienced in the operation and management of a municipal water treatment, storage, and distribution system for the position of:
FULL TIME WATER OPERATOR.
- Full Time (40+ Hrs./Week)
-$25-$33/Hr DOQ

Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
Compliance w/ US EPA Safe Drinking Water Act and MA DEP drinking water regulations. Daily operations, inspections, maintenance of treatment plant, all storage and distributions systems. State and Federal reporting requirements. Work in conjunction with contractors. Active role in response to emergencies, water main breaks, etc.
Qualifications:
Should possess applicable State license for DEP D-1 Distribution and T-1 Treatment. D-2 Distribution and Treatment preferred. MA Diver's License, MA CDL Preferred. Ability to respond to emergencies at all times, including weekends and holidays - and to take active role in labor intensive repairs, maintenance, etc. Must be able to pass pre-employment physical exam, drug/alcohol test, and CORI check. Knowledge of construction operations and practices. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work with a team.

- Part Time w/ Flexible Hours
- $22-$28/hr. DOQ

Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
Account payable and receivable, District payroll and payment of State and Federal Taxes. Banking, including monthly reconciliation. Attending bi-monthly District Meetings, record minutes. Work with District customers, Water Superintendent & Operators, District Accountant, Report to the Board of Water Commissioners.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in accounting or comparable experience. Customer service experience. Knowledge of fund/government accounting, billing and payroll systems, and municipal law. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to work independently as well as with customers, staff, vendors, etc.
